Moving-Day Two

I know this is late, but we are still without Internet at home...I will post more on that later!

Friday I had to work, so Mr. K and Nedger were to take all the heavy furniture and such to the new apartment. Their day did not start off so hot. Mr. K left the lights on in the truck, so the battery died. He and Nedger searched and searched for the battery. Finally, Nedger looked on his IPhone and called Isuzu to ask where the battery was...Just where you thought it would be...under the passenger seat.

So after jumping the truck off, they were on their way. After several trips, all the furniture and large items were at the new apartment. I got off promptly at 4:30 and couldn't wait to get there, but had to go to the old apartment first to meet Mr. K. We packed up both cars with more small boxes and such and decided to let Atlanta traffic die down before we headed to the new place. We decided on Chinese for dinner and went on over to Mandarin Cafe which is our favorite Chinese restaurant.

After eating, we headed to the new house. Once I walked in, I was overwhelmed...there were boxes everywhere! I immediately began unpacking and putting things away. Little by little, the sea of boxes began to diminish. Mr. and Mrs. T came over that night to help as well, which really did help take a load off! We are so thankful to have them as friends and LOVE that they are in the next building!

Mr. K and I didn't go to bed until about midnight, but we got a lot done and were very proud of ourselves...Pictures to come soon!

Moving-Day One

I had a half day at work yesterday in order to go to our new home so I could sign the papers to get keys and start moving little stuff over before Mr. K got off of work. I get to the new complex, sign the papers and get those bright, shiney new keys in my little hands..The anticipation to see the new apartment for the first time was too much!

I went over and opened the door and knew immediately we had made the right decision to leave. The smell of new carpet and paint was almost heavenly to me. Everything was bright and cheery throughout because we have so much beautiful natural light that comes in. We are also on the backside of the building that looks over a grassy area so we have a really pretty view. Once I took it all in, I raced over to the "old" place to stuff my car as full as I could get it...and boy did I. My sweet mom also came over to help. Once I was finished stuffing the car, off we went. Mom followed with Mr. Chancer in tow so he could see the new diggs as well.

We unpacked and organized a few things, then it was time to head back to meet Mr. K to pick up the moving truck for the big stuff. As soon as I got back, I was packing again..as much as I could as fast as I could. As soon as Mr. K was home, we left to go pick up the truck. Then we returned home and Nedger (no, not his real name of course) came over to help even more. We packed up my SUV, Nedgers SUV and Momma K's as well..we were making great progress!

Made our second trip to the apartment again with Mr. Chancers and began putting more things away. It was starting to feel like home..

The furniture is being moved in today and I can't wait. I will be spending the night in our new home tonight!

Weekend Recap

What a wonderful weekend we had!

We were blessed with gorgeous weather which is something we haven't had in quite a while! Mr. K has a second-job during baseball season as an umpire for the National Umpires Association, so this was his first weekend back as the baseball season has officially kicked off! He had three games on Saturday so while he was off making extra cashola, I went to Weight Watchers with my best friend Allison, as I do every Saturday.

Afterwards, I went home to start cleaning and packing up our apartment since we are moving this week! I was also excited for Mr. K to come home because we just got three new movies in from Netflix and I wanted to relax and watch one with him before we went out with our friends Mr. and Mrs. T Saturday night. Once he got home, we decided to watch Law Abiding Citizen. I saw it a while back when Mr. K was gone for his bachelor party and it was still out in theaters, but it was still just as good as when I first saw it!

After the movie, we got ready for Mr. and Mrs. T to come pick us up. We were headed to our friend Marlo's house for a nice get together. We had such a wonderful time, and Marlo had a gorgeous spread put out for us. We laughed, ate, drank and played Wii until it was time to go. Mr. and Mrs. T brought their 7 month old daughter along, and she crawled for the first time while we were there! It was just one small crawl, but it was amazing just to see that and share that with her parents. Once we got home, we crashed...it had been a long day for both of us!

Sunday was even more gorgeous than Saturday. We needed to go to IKEA downtown to look for a new piece of furniture to set our TV on. Mr. and Mrs. T wanted to go along, so we picked them up, and away we went! Now, IKEA can be very overwhelming and once we got there we couldn't decide on this or that...we had to walk away from the Media section just to get our thoughts together, and we finally decided on a piece. Once we were done, we all packed up in the car and headed back North, since Mr. K had three more baseball games that afternoon.

Once we dropped Mr. K off, myself, Mr. and Mrs. T along with their little one decided to go get some lunch. We decided on Mexican, and went to one of our favorites, La Parilla. We enjoyed a nice lunch outside on the patio, and then Mrs. T and I headed to Kohls to do some browsing. After that, I cruised on to the grocery and went home for the night.

What a wonderful weekend surrounded by GREAT people!

Nothing says lovin'...

Like good ole' Chicken Pot Pie!

Mr. K and I eat pretty healthy for the most part, especially since I am on Weight Watchers. So when I came across this recipe, I decided to give it a try!

Not only was it easy to make and not time consuming at all, it was really delicious! It was full of flavor and although it wasn't packed with cream and butter, it was divine! This truly was comfort food without all the fat..but you would never know because it tasted like it was!

Mr. K loved it (which is always a good thing), and I even had it for leftovers last night since he had to work late and then again for lunch today!

Here is the finished product:

We're Moving!

Ok, so if you followed my last blog, Confessions Of A Broke Bride, you will know we have had ongoing Neighbor Issues that just never stopped. Mr. K and I thought we could stay in our current place for just one more year before we buy something...but the night before the wedding, they kept me up with their normal nonsense until 5AM, and at that point I had had it!

So we looked where my bestie Ali lives and really fell in love with their apartments. We upgraded to a two bedroom because Mr. Chancers needs his own room (totally kidding), and we need the extra space...BAD.

We move in THIS week and couldn't be more excited! Everyone hates moving..but this chick can't wait. I have already started planning new curtains, wall decorations, etc. We are also going to get new bedding and bath decor, since our bedroom and bath stuff that we currently use will go into the guest room.

Look here to see the layout of our new place!

Snow Day, Fun Day!

I have been wanting to see snow SOOOOOOOO bad! And finally, Friday before last, the Snow Gods heard and answered my prayers. We had light flurries on and off all morning, but nothing major..I was dissappointed to say the lesat..And then at about 1:30, the gorgeous white stuff descended down in huge sheets, and stuck to everything in sight.

My "lovely" boss indicated that he wasn't going to let us go early, and then at 3, told us to go home..I couldn't wait. The anticipation of getting home and putting Mr. Chancers sweater on to go play out in this unlikely phenomenon was just too much. I raced home (yes, I said raced...I know Mr. K's mom is not liking reading this)in order to start the celebration!

As soon as I was home, I put on my "snow gear", which basically consisted of a couple of thermal shirts, jeans, 2 pairs of socks, UGGS, a hoodie and a beanie...That was it folks...Mr. K was home waiting for me, and we tool Mr. Chancers outside.

Now, this sweet boy is OLD..like 84 in people years..but nothing, and I mean nothing, could stop puppy from having a good time! He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES snow! We would throw snowballs and he would chase them. The ones that broke when they hit the ground he would try to dig for and find...with no luck. The ones that were hard packed, he picked them up and ran around with them in his mouth. He barked, ran, jumped and played. We even went back into the apartment to warm up and he wasn't happy about it...he wanted back out! So we went back out and played even more..it was the BEST.DAY.EVER...

It's The Night Before Friday and All Through The House.....

It's so quiet in the house right now. Mr. K is at a baseball meeting, while Chance and I enjoy a nice quiet evening at home. Now don't get me wrong, I love spending time with Mr. K. when we are home together, but every now and then it's nice to have just some "me" time at home.

Once I got home from work, I made myself a nice, but healthy dinner while I caught up on some episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County. I then went to tan to warm up and relax. Once home, I worked on Mr. K.'s resume for him since he is ready to move on in the world of employment.

Mr. K. should be home soon, so I think I will go made the bed so he can come home and relax!
